Abstract:  Learn about issues and challenges in the medical field facing all those who support children who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing.  In this 75 minute keynote, we will explore access to medical care, learn what to look for in a doctor, and what to expect at the doctor’s office at different ages.  Get the best health care for your child who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing!

Presenter: Carolyn Stern, MD:  Parent to Child and Back

Abstract:
  There are many challenges for both families and health professionals who support the development of Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. 

    In this 75 minute session, we will have an in depth discussion while we explore     decisions made in the home environment from 0-3 and 3-5 years (early     identification), 5-10 years, and 10-19 years of age.  We will focus on bonding with     your child,     healthy relationships and health care, family, social, and educational     issues.
